Truman Flyer is constantly in motion, a swirling, free-spirited, singular artist. A generational singer-songwriter who performs as a solo guitarist and as leader of a muscular four-piece ensemble, Truman is inspired by the cathartic dreamscape of Mazzy Star, The Sundays and Yo La Tengo, as well as the immediacy of modern pop. Truman recently twirled down the stage steps at the Bowery Ballroom to open an intimate show for Alice Phoebe Lou and held the rapt crowd in the palm of her hand, inviting them into her world by having them light two candelabras to illuminate the darkened stage. Amid astonished gasps and spontaneous cheers, Truman charmed the entire room before greeting everyone with hugs and blessings after the show. Truman’s debut single, “True Love” marks a long-awaited introduction to the sound she’s been honing her entire life. Released on a super-limited 7” vinyl with a lenticular sleeve and housing a miniature wooden Truman Flyer airplane, an insert and stickers.
